Veteran film producer AM Rathnam made a remarkable personal sacrifice to ensure the timely completion of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the upcoming period action drama starring Pawan Kalyan. Rathnam reportedly postponed a scheduled surgery to stay fully involved in the final stages of the film’s production.
The emotional revelation came during a grand press meet held by the film’s team ahead of its release on 25 July. Director Jyothi Krishna, Rathnam’s son, shared how deeply committed his father was to seeing the film through.
“My father was supposed to have an operation, but he said the film comes first,” said Jyothi Krishna. “He stayed with us on set and worked day and night without any complaints. That level of dedication kept the entire team going.”
Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set in the 17th century during the Mughal Empire and tells the story of a heroic rebel’s fight against a powerful ruler. Pawan Kalyan plays the title role, with Nidhhi Agerwal starring opposite him.
Jyothi Krishna also spoke about the intense effort put in by the entire team, especially in the final ten days leading up to the release. “None of us have slept properly in days,” he said. “We’ve all been working round the clock to make sure everything is perfect.”
One of the major highlights of the film is an 18–20 minute action sequence centred around Pawan Kalyan. Music composer M.M. Keeravani took 10 days to score the background music for that scene alone. “The final mix took eight hours. When we watched it, we knew it was something special,” the director said.
Jyothi Krishna added that the film is a blend of visual grandeur and emotional storytelling and that families will enjoy watching it in cinemas. His emotional words and behind-the-scenes stories have quickly gone viral on social media.
As anticipation builds, fans are now counting down the days to see Hari Hara Veera Mallu on the big screen.
