Allu Arjun fan dhaba in Raipur triggers legal concerns

Allu Arjun new look

A roadside dhaba in Raipur has unexpectedly become a hot topic after it was named and themed around Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. The eatery, called Allu Arjun Ka Fans Dhaba, was opened by a group of young fans who admire the actor and his famous role from the film Pushpa. The dhaba is decorated with large posters, cut-outs and photos of the star, making it look more like a fan zone than a regular restaurant.

The dhaba has quickly become popular among travellers and local people. Many visitors stop not only for food but also to take photos and videos with the decorations. Some even imitate Allu Arjun’s famous dialogues and poses from his films, especially the Pushpa-style hand gesture.

However, the excitement has now turned into a debate. Legal experts suggest that using a celebrity’s name, photos and film character for business purposes without permission can lead to legal issues. A person’s image and name are considered intellectual property, and only the owner has the right to use them commercially. If permission was not taken, the dhaba owners could face legal action.

Some fans argue that it is simply a tribute to their favourite star and not meant to cause any harm. They say the dhaba is a way of showing love and respect. Others feel that even if the intention is good, using a celebrity’s identity for profit is not allowed without approval.

So far, Allu Arjun has not made any public statement about the dhaba. His team has also not confirmed whether any legal steps will be taken. Meanwhile, the fan-themed dhaba continues to attract visitors and has become a social media sensation in the area.

The issue has opened a bigger discussion about how far fan admiration can go, and where the line is drawn between tribute and commercial misuse.
