70th National Awards: Here’s full list of Winners

Rishab Shetty won National Award as Best Actor for Kantara

On 16th August, 70th National Awards have been announced by Government instated panel. Rishab Shetty, as anticipated won National Award for best actor for his performance in Kantara. Nitya Menen got best actress award for Thiruchitrabalam. She shared it with Manasi Parek from Kutch Express. Surprisingly, Uunchai got Best Director for Sooraj Barjatya and Best Supporting Actress for Neena Gupta.

Ponniyin Selvan Part-1 did well with 4 National awards for Best BGM – AR Rahman, Cinematography – Ravi Varman, Tamil Film, Sound Design. Aattam won Best Fearture film and KGF Chapter 2 surprisingly won Best Kannada film over Kantara. But Kantara won Best Wholesome Entertainer. Brahmastra won Best Music (Songs) – Pritam, VFX, Male Playback – Arijit Singh, Best film in AVGC.

But Telugu Cinema did not make similar impact as it did in 69th National Awards. Only Karthikeya 2 ended up winning Best Regional Film, Telugu award. KGF Chapter 2 won deserving award for action choreography. Much under appreciated Gulmohar won Best Hindi Film, Best Dialogues and a special mention for Manoj Bajpayee’s performance.
