As the war between Israel and Iran, Israel-Iran conflict, continues for a fifth day, the Indian government has urged its citizens living in both countries to remain cautious and move to safer areas if possible. The advisory comes after growing concerns over the ongoing military actions in the region.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran has asked Indian nationals and people of Indian origin to avoid crowded areas and follow safety guidelines closely. To assist those in need, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has launched a 24-hour helpline and shared emergency contact details.
India has also taken a neutral diplomatic approach. While a statement issued by the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) criticised Israel’s military operations, Indian officials clarified that the country did not support that message. Instead, India called for peace and urged all sides to resolve the crisis through dialogue.
Reuven Azar, Israel’s Ambassador to India, said Israel is willing to help evacuate Indian citizens from the region if New Delhi makes a formal request. He confirmed that talks are ongoing between both countries.
Back home, the crisis is affecting India’s financial markets. On Tuesday, stock indices like Sensex and Nifty dropped due to rising oil prices and global uncertainty. Investors are worried that the situation could lead to economic instability if it continues.
In response to these concerns, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said India is closely monitoring global fuel supplies. He also said that the country has enough oil reserves to handle short-term challenges.
The tensions remain high amid Israel-Iran conflict, Indian government continues to take steps to protect its citizens and maintain stability at home. Officials are urging everyone in the affected areas to stay alert and keep in touch with Indian embassies for updates.
