On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Olive Hospital is encouraging people to look at yoga not just as a way to stay fit, but as a powerful tool for staying healthy and preventing illness.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” focuses on the connection between personal well-being and the health of the planet. Olive Hospital used the opportunity to highlight how yoga can help prevent common lifestyle diseases such as heart problems, diabetes, and stress-related conditions.
Dr Kruthik Kulkarni, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Olive Hospital, said, “Yoga is more than just stretching or breathing—it’s a way of life. Regular practice can ease stress, improve sleep, and support heart health. It really helps bring the body and mind into balance.”
He pointed out that the World Health Organization (WHO) recently recognised yoga’s benefits in managing long-term health conditions. “When people take charge of their own well-being, it creates a ripple effect—leading to healthier families, communities, and even a healthier planet,” he added.
Studies have shown that yoga can lower blood pressure, improve flexibility, boost lung capacity, and even reduce anxiety and depression. With this in mind, Olive Hospital is encouraging people of all ages to include yoga in their daily routines—whether by joining a class or doing simple breathing exercises at home.
Known for its modern care and holistic approach, Olive Hospital has been serving Telangana since 2010. With a 210-bed facility and a wide range of specialties—from cardiac care to orthopaedics and advanced diagnostics—the hospital blends cutting-edge technology with lifestyle-based care.
