Stock Markets Update: Investors dislike Budget

Stock Markets investors did not welcome Budget

Stock Markets ended with marginal losses on 23rd July after Budget 2024 announcement. Investors did not warm up to the Union Budget. They seem to have disliked the budget with huge changes in tax slab system. Also, Finance Minister announced more taxes and this did not allow indices to recover at any moment.

In the session, both heavy weight indices – BSE and Nifty50, have started higher than previous closing. But as the Budget 2024 started being presented in the Parliament by FM, both started sliding down. At one point, BSE lost 1500 points and Nifty50 lost 500 points. Recovering, Big indices of Stock Markets, BSE lost 73.04 points to close at 80,429.04 and Nifty50 lost 30.20 points to close at 24,479.05 mark.

In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading above previous closing at 80,724.30 and then continued to trade between 80,766.41 – 79,224.32. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading above than previous closing at 24,568.90 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 24,582.55. While Nifty50 hit the lowest at 24,074.20.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.71 against USD on 23rd July 2024. Titan Company, ITC, NTPC, Infosys, HCL Technologies ended as Top Gainers in Sensex. Titan Company, ITC, Tata Consumer, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, NTPC ended as Top Gainers in Nifty50.

On the other hand in top indices of Stock Markets; Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Finance, State Bank Of India, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank stocks ended as Top Losers in Sensex. While Shriram Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Hindalco Industries, Bajaj Finance, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation ended as Top Losers in Nifty50.
