Stock Markets Update: Indices traded flat with nominal gains

Stock Markets ended flat on 7th March

Stock Markets maintained gains but traded flat on 07th March 2024. Traders remained circumspect throughout the session. International Stock Markets did end in profits and it helped in positive start. Metal sector stocks saw good investments unlike others. Hence, BSE gained 33.40 points to close at 74,119.39 and Nifty gained 19.50 points to close at 22,493.55 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 74,242.74 and then continued to trade between 73,921.48 – 74,245.17. Index started above par over the previous closing. Traders did not invest much in the big stocks and it kept trading flat oscillating between highs and lows. Hence, BSE ended the trading session at 74,119.39 by gaining 33.40 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,505.30 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,525.65. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 22,430.00. Index started above 22,500 mark and continued to trade above par to hit 22,535 mark at the highest. But index kept oscillating throughout and Nifty50 ended by gaining nominal 19.50 points on 22,493.55.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.82.69 against US Dollar on 07th March, 2024. Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv shares have ended being Top Gainers. Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Powergrid Corporation became Top losers. SingTel sold 0.8% Bharti Airtel stake to GQG Partners and made US$711 Million and this lead to 1% share price increase.
