Stock Markets recovered slightly on 18th March 2024. Investors have been circumspect has big countries like US, UK and Japan banks’ are releasing their interest rates in coming days. They have invested in several big stocks mid-session after hitting lows. As a result, BSE gained 104.99 points to close at 72,748.42 and Nifty gained 32.35 points to close at 22,055.70 mark.
BSE Sensex started trading at 72,587.30 and then continued to trade between 72,314.16 – 72,985.89. Index started below the previous closing and kept hitting lows. Investors invested in big stocks at their lowest and at one time, it hit 72,985 mark. Towards the end, BSE lost again and ended the trading session at 72,748.42 by gaining 104.99 points.
Nifty Sensex started trading at 21,990.10 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,123.70. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,916.55. Index started below the 22,000 mark and continued to lose the points for first two hours. Investors invested in big stocks and sold off some at the highest. Hence, Nifty50 ended by gaining 32.35 points on 22,055.70.
Indian Rupee traded at Rs.82.90 against US Dollar on 18th March, 2024. Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma have ended the session as Top Gainers. Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Hindustan Unilever have been Top Losers. Stock Markets have started the new week on a positive note.
