Stock Markets Update: Indices lost huge on Wednesday

Stock Markets on 21st Feb registered losses

Stock Markets ended the continue profits streak on 21st February 2024. Traders kept trading flat till the mid-session in gains. Post that IT, Financial, Pharma sector stocks have faced huge selling pressure and indices lost all the gains. Hence, BSE lost 434.30 points to close at 72,623.09 and Nifty lost 141.90 points to close at 22,055.05 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 73,267.48 and then continued to trade between 73,267.80 – 72,450.56. Index has started above the previous closing. Major stocks have traded in profits till the mid-session and suddenly the selling pressure rocked the index. Hence, BSE ended the trading session at 72,623.09 by losing 434.30 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,248.85 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,249.40. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,997.95. Index traded higher than the previous closing and it kept trading flat at the same level. Towards the end, the selling pressure got the best of the index. Hence, Nifty50 ended by losing 141.90 points on 22,055.05.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.82.95 against US Dollar on 21st February, 2024, as well. Tata Steel, State Bank of India, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank, Maruthi Suzuki have ended as top gainers this session. NTPC, Powergrid Corporation, Wipro, HCL Technology, L&T stocks ended as top losers. International Stock Markets ended up with mixed results.
