Stock Markets end with losses before Budget

Stock Markets ended with losses on 22nd July due to investors being circumspect before Union Budget 2024. Investors did not show the same progressive aggression. They booked profits in big stocks like Wipro, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank ad others. HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra stocks help in limiting the losses.

In the session, Small Cap and MidCap indices have fared better. They helped in limiting losses of investors as big indices registered losses. Both the indices opened much lower than previous closing and continued to trade in red. With losses, Big indices of Stock Markets, BSE lost 102.57 points to close at 80,502.08 and Nifty50 lost 21.65 points to close at 24,509.25 mark.

In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading below previous closing at 80,408.90 and then continued to trade between 80,800.92 – 80,100.65. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading lower than previous closing at 24,445.75 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 24,595.20. While Nifty50 hit the lowest at 24,362.30.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.66 against USD on 22nd July 2024. NTPC, Ultratech Cement, HDFC Bank, Power Grid Corporation Of India and Mahindra & Mahindra ended as Top Gainers in Sensex. Grasim Industries, NTPC, Ultratech Cement, HDFC Bank and Dr Reddys Laboratories ended as Top Gainers in Nifty50.

On the other hand in top indices of Stock Markets; Wipro, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, ITC and State Bank Of India stocks ended as Top Losers in Sensex. While Wipro, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, ITC and SBI Life Insurance Company ended as Top Losers in Nifty50.
