Stock Markets Update: BSE crosses 81k mark!

Stock Markets hit new highs yet again

Stock Markets recorded new record highs once again after a slow start on 18th July. Markets have been closed on 17th July, due to Muharram holiday and opened to losses this session. Despite some favourable global cues markets dived further. IT stocks wrote the big recovery story pushing big indices to new heights.

In the session, small cap and mid cap indices suffered losses but big ones recorded growth. IT stocks rallied these gains big time mid-session and BSE crossed 81k for the first time. At the highest, it touched 81,522.25 mark as well. With a favourable closing, Big indices of Stock Markets, BSE gained 626.91 points to close at 81,343.46 and Nifty50 gained 187.85 points to close at 24,800.85 mark.

In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading below previous closing at 80,514.25 and then continued to trade between 80,390.37 – 81,522.55. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading lower than previous closing at 24,543.80 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 24,837.75. While Nifty50 hit the lowest at 24,504.45.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.63 against USD on 18th July 2024. Tata Consultancy Services, Bajaj Finserv, Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra and Infosys ended as Top Gainers in Sensex. LTI Mindtree, Tata Consultancy Services, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Bajaj Finserv and Wipro ended as Top Gainers in Nifty50.

On the other hand in top indices of Stock Markets; Asian Paints, NTPC, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corporation Of India and HDFC Bank stocks ended as Top Losers in Sensex. While Asian Paints, Coal India, Hero Motocorp, Grasim Industries and Bajaj Auto ended as Top Losers in Nifty50.
