Working with famed Indian film director S. S. Rajamouli can be a tough challenge for actors, say many stars who have shared their experiences. According to actors who have worked with him, being on set with Rajamouli demands high levels of stamina, focus and patience.
Actors describe Rajamouli as a perfectionist who pushes his team to give their best until scenes are just right. On a Rajamouli set, work often continues for long hours and breaks are rare. Sometimes actors might start early in the morning and finish late at night, with no clear idea of when they will be free.
For some films, actors have been asked to stay near the set even overnight to be ready for action the next day. The director makes the filming location feel like a second home and asks his actors to fully dedicate themselves to the project.
Prabhas, who starred in the blockbuster Baahubali series directed by Rajamouli, has shared that the shooting schedule was extremely tough. In one instance, he and the cast had to work for up to 70 consecutive days without a proper break. Rajamouli expects complete focus until he is satisfied with a scene.
Other stars like Ram Charan and Jr NTR have also spoken about their experiences, saying that Rajamouli’s way of working can be demanding but it results in memorable performances and hugely successful films.
The actor’s endurance is tested not just by long hours, but also by special training before filming starts. Actors often need physical preparation, such as learning stunts or changing their fitness level to fit the role. Rajamouli does not compromise on quality, and multiple takes are common until he is happy with the result.
Despite the challenges, many actors value the experience of working with him. The hard work on set often leads to films that become major hits and are remembered long after their release.
