Wasim Jaffer: Pakistan batsman Babar Azam and Team India star Virat Kohli are always discussed. Arguments about who is the best of the two will continue. Recently, the former opener of Team India, wasim jaffer, made interesting comments about Pakistan’s batsman Babar Azam. Although Babar is undoubtedly a good player, it is not right to compare him with Virat Kohli. Zafar analyzes that these unnecessary comparisons are the main reason for the loss of Babar’s form. Zafar stated that Babar was hyped more than necessary by Pakistani media and fans. Virat is the second best player in the list of batsmen who scored most international centuries and international runs in T20 career. He said that while Kohli is growing step by step, Babar’s form is showing a decline.
“Babar is a good player, no doubt about it. But they started comparing him with Virat Kohli, called him ‘King’ and put undue pressure on him. That pressure affected his mind. Babar tried to play like Virat Kohli and lead the team like him. But Virat is one of the greatest players of this generation. Virat will always be Virat. This over-hype is the beginning of Babar’s downfall,” Zafar said on the social media platform. He said in a video shared by X. Moreover, Zafar criticized that Babar Azam could not excel as a captain. Performance is not as expected. “When the opportunity came to take Pakistan cricket to the highest level, Babar failed to take advantage of it,” he said. Despite reaching the final of the T20 World Cup, Babar is of the opinion that he has failed to consistently lead the team to victory and build a strong team. However, Zafar hailed Babar as one of the best batsmen to come out of Pakistan in the current generation.
