As part of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the 69th league match against Mumbai Indians (MI) by 30 runs at Wankhede Stadium. With this win, Rajasthan Royals have officially qualified for the playoffs with a total of 16 points from their 14 league matches this season with 8 wins and 6 losses. As a result, Punjab Kings (PBKS), who are fourth in the points table, lost their playoffs hopes.
Batting first in this match, Rajasthan Royals made a huge score of 205 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. After that, the Mumbai Indians team, who came into the ring with a huge target of 206 runs, got a shock at the very beginning. Star opener Rohit Sharma was dismissed off the bowling of Jofra Archer for zero runs (duckout) in just 4 balls. One-down batsman Naman Dhir (6) was also hunted by Archer. Another opener Ryan Rickelton (12) and Tilak Verma (3) reached the pavilion for a low score and Mumbai lost 4 wickets for 94 runs and fell into deep trouble.
Middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav put up a lone struggle at this stage. He scored 60 runs off 42 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes and got out after being caught by Nandre Burger bowling. Will Jacks scored 33 runs off 18 balls and captain Hardik Pandya scored 34 runs off 15 balls but could not lead the team to victory despite playing fast. In the end Corbin Bosh (2) and Deepak Chahar (8) took wickets while Shardul Thakur remained unbeaten with 10 runs. As a result, Mumbai Indians managed to score only 175 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Among the Rajasthan bowlers, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma damaged Mumbai’s batting order and gave their team an unassailable victory.
