The race for the Orange Cap in IPL 2026 is getting more interesting. A new player is coming into the top order with every match. Currently, Abhishek Sharma is the highest run scorer. Virat Kohli was also in the Orange Cap race, but has now dropped out of the top 5. 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi stepped into this position. The current orange cap top-5 list is as follows.
Abhishek Sharma: Abhishek Sharma beat KL Rahul to win the Orange Cap. He scored 16 runs against KKR and became the No. 1 run-scorer in IPL 2026. Abhishek Sharma has so far scored 440 runs in 10 matches at an impressive batting average of 48.88.
KL Rahul: KL Rahul is second in the Orange Cap race. So far in IPL 2026 he has played nine matches and scored 433 runs. Rahul averaged 54.12 while he batted at a strike rate of 185.83.
Heinrich Klassen: Heinrich Klaasen is the third highest run scorer in IPL 2026. He scored 425 runs in 10 matches at an impressive average of 53.12. Klaasen has scored four fifties so far this season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi stood fourth in the Orange Cap race. He scored 404 runs in 10 matches. The Rajasthan Royals star batsman batted at an average of 40.40 with an impressive strike rate of 237.64. Suryavanshi has scored one century and two half-centuries so far in IPL 2026.
Sai Sudarshan: Sai Sudarshan stormed into the Orange Cap race with a brilliant innings of 57 runs against PBKS. While Virat Kohli has been pushed out of the top five, Kohli now stands at the sixth position. Sudarshan has scored 385 runs in 10 matches so far. Sudarshan batted at a strike rate of 158.43. He scored one century and three half-centuries in IPL 2026.
