Crores Spent, Zero Impact: IPL 2026 Biggest Flops Revealed

IPL 2026 season have showered crores on some players. Franchisees spent much cash on Team India keeper Rishabh Pant, West Indies hitter Nicholas Pooran and Australia all-rounder Cameron Green. The fact that all of them could not meet the expectations in IPL 2026 has become hot topic of discussion. These players who cost crores of rupees have not played a single noteworthy innings so far. Their form is also affecting the results of the teams. Let’s take a look at the most disappointing players this season.

Lucknow Supergiants have retained batsman Rishabh Pant for a whopping sum of Rs 27 crores. But Pant’s performance this season is not up to expectations. Like last season, he could not make much of an impact this time as well. Pant is not playing the innings that will sustain the team at crucial times. Another star batsman from Lucknow, Nicholas Pooran, was retained for Rs 21 crore. His performance is also disappointing. Pooran, who is known for his aggressive batting, is not able to score much this season. His bat was muted at a time when the team needed it.

All-rounder Cameron Green, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 25.2 crore, is also being criticized. Even though a match winning performance should come from him, he has not been able to play at that level so far. He has no impact in both batting and bowling. It must be said that the situation of Karthik Sharma, who was taken by Chennai Super Kings for a huge price of Rs.14.2 crores, is even more strange. After disappointing in the opening matches, he is not getting a place in the final team. The fact that the player bought for such a large sum is confined to the bench has become a minus for CSK.

Prashant Veer, who elected for CSK team at a price of Rs.14.2 crores, also failed to perform as expected. Even though he played a moderate innings in one match, he could not make a big impact for the team. His performance was also disappointing for the team. All in all, these star players who bought huge sums in IPL 2026 have not lived up to expectations so far. Will they return to form in the rest of the season and become key players for their teams? Or else they keep disappointing us? That became interesting.
