Virat Kohli has made 15th November, CWC 2023 Semi-Final clash, a memorable day for Indian Cricket and himself. Sachin Tendulkar scored 49 ODI centuries and missed out scoring 50 before he retired. But ever since, Virat bursted on to the scene, he has been pitted to be the perfect person to cross Sachin’s record in ODIs for sure.
With his consistency, great grit, talent, determination and penchant to improve every day, he has reached the summit. Virat Kohli failed in ICC Knockout matches and hence, India also did not have much success in the big tournaments. He rectified it with grit and help of other teammates rallying around him. He achieved the long awaited 50th ODI century landmark.
With that he also crossed another big record of Sachin Tendulkar. He has gone past 673 runs record set by the great man in CWC 2003. Virat Kohli crossed the number and is currently at 711 runs. He has achieved huge aggregate for a single tournament ever in CWC 2023. Hopefully, if India reaches Final, he might be able to set even bigger number on the board.

India would hope for him to achieve that mark with another possible century in the final, if they reach to the big stage. Virat Kohli played in his classical style in the Semi-Final. He got massive support from Captain Rohit Sharma’s blitzkrieg and Shubman Gill’s aggression at the start of his innings. As he progressed, Shreyas Iyer did not let him crumble under pressure.
Virat could play his game and hit stunning shots to reach complete his 50th ODI century. He made India proud with his dual achievements and even viewership on Disney Plus Hotstar has reached to never before number 4.9 crores, while he is at the crease. He bowed to Mumbai crowd and Sachin Tendulkar and achieved at the great man’s home ground this milestone. Well played, Virat!
