Today, the U-19 team emerged as the winners of the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka which won the toss opted for the bat first against team India at Dubai International Stadium.
Team India put pressure on the U-19 Lankan side from the first over till the last over through their terrific bowling performance. The Play in the U19 AsiaCup final between India versus Sri Lanka halted due to rain with SL U19 on 74-7 from 32.5 overs.
Later, over reduced to 38 and Sri Lankans scored 107 runs by losing 9 wickets. While India was chasing the target, rain interrupted the match several times and the target was revised to 99 from 38 over as per the DLS method.
India comprehensively chased the target with 9 wickets in hand. From 1989-2021, India won the U-19 Asia cup for 8 times, probably the highest by any time.
