South Africa and West Indies have started 2-Test series on 28th February. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. On the first day, Dean Elgar (71) and Aiden Markram have put on 141-run stand. And Aiden Markram went on to score 115. This helped South Africa to score 342 runs in the first innings. Alzarri Joseph (5/81), Kyle Mayers (1/23), Shannon Gabriel (1/49), Jason Holder (1/64), Kemar Roach (1/71) did well for West Indies.
West Indies could only score 212 runs in 69 overs. Raymon Reifer (62) and Jermaine Blackwood (37) only did well in the batting for West Indies. Anrich Nortje took 5/36 in the first innings for South Africa. Kagiso Rabada (2/44), Gerald Coetzee (2/45), Marco Jansen (1/64) helped him in restricting West Indies. South Africa in their second innings got all-out for 116. Aiden Markram (47), Gerald Coetzee (20), Kagiso Rabada (10) only managed to score in double digit. Kemar Roach (5/47), Jason Holder (2/7), Alzarri Joseph (2/30), Shannon Gabriel (1/26) did well for West Indies.
West Indies needed 247 runs to win the match. But South Africa bowlers did not let them stay in crease for more than 41 overs. Only Jermaine Blackwood (79) scored well. Kagiso Rabada (6/50), Marco Jansen (2/33), Gerald Coetzee (1/20), Anrich Nortje (1/48) did not allow batsmen to dominate. Aiden Markram for his 115 and 47 runs in the match, won Player of the Match for South Africa.
