Shubman Gill has been given out in a controversial manner during second innings of India. In the WTC Final, 3rd umpire has given out after looking at few replays. Cameron Green has taken Shubman Gill catch low to his left. The replays have not conclusive shown that Green did not grass the ball. Shubman Gill has walked back to pavillion disappointed.
He then took to Twitter and posted a screenshot of Cameron Green catch. Shubman Gill indirectly, suggested that Green grassed the ball while getting up. ICC did not like the tweet. They have imposed 15% fine on his match fee for disrespecting Umpire. Already, Shubman Gill has been fined 100% of match fee along with other Indian players for slow over rate.
Australia team have been fined 80% of their match fee. Shubman Gill has to pay 115% fine for his tweet and slow over rate. Team India and fans are disappointed due to the loss. India has lost two WTC Finals and fans are highly frustrated with the team. Shubman Gill has been in great form but he could not carry it into WTC Final. Even Rohit Sharma, India Team Captain stated that he is disappointed with the way decision has been made. But ICC has been strict for players speaking against umpires or their decisions.
