India continued their first innings from Day 1 and KL Rahul, Shubhman Gill continued to bat. Both the openers got out KL Rahul (10), Shubhman Gill (20) for 38 and then Cheteshwar Pujara (24), Virat Kohli (24) also got out after getting a start for 94. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have come together at this moment to save India from embarrassment. They both batted mixing aggression with caution against Bangladesh bowlers on a slightly bowling friendly pitch.
Rishabh Pant mainly kept going after spinners and hit 5 sixes. He went on to hit 7 boundaries and scored 93 from 104 balls for India. He and Shreyas Iyer have put on 159-run stand for 5th wicket. Shreyas Iyer scored 87 runs off 105 balls. He has hit 10 fours and 2 sixes. After Rishabh Pant’s dismissal, Axar Patel (4) and Shreyas Iyer also got out reducing India to 271/7. Ravichandran Ashwin (12), Umesh Yadav (14), Mohammed Siraj (7) and Jaydev Unadkat (14) helped India cross 300, for 314 all-out and get 87 runs lead. Bangladesh bowlers Taijul Islam (4/74), Shakib Al Hasan (4/79), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (1/61), Taskin Ahmed (1/58) did well and they scored 7/0, in their second innings , by the end of Day 2.
