RCB has a great loyal fanbase among IPL Franchises. Virat Kohli has been able draw huge amount of fans with his performances over the years. But RCB has been finding ways to lose and not able to cross the winning line. They lost to LSG in a nail-biting thriller on 10th April in IPL 2023. RCB has the game under their belt till Nicholas Pooran played a blinder.

Earlier, LSG won the toss and elected to field first. Virat Kohli went after Mark Wood, Jaydev Unadkat and Avesh Khan in powerplay. Post that he slowed down and got out on 61 off 44 balls. RCB needed struggling captain Faf du Plessis to come to party. He scored 32 off 31 and ended up with 79 off 46 balls. Glenn Maxwell also took on bowlers by scoring 59 off 29 balls. RCB ended the first innings with huge score 212/2 in 20 overs.

LSG did not find ideal start with Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya failing. Marcus Stoinis scored 65 runs off 30 balls to give first nightmare to RCB. KL Rahul, struggle ended after scoring 18 runs off 20 balls. This brought Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni to crease. Nicholas Pooran scored 50 off 15 balls and ended with 62 runs off 19 balls. Ayush Badoni unfortunately got hit wicket scoring a six. He scored 30 off 24 balls. In the final over, LSG crossed the line as Harshal Patel missed a Mankad run-out. RCB fans started crying on the ground unable to take the defeat.

The trauma of supporting a failing team filled with superstars, seems to be getting to them. RCB has the most quality hitters and they have delivered too. But their reliance on only hitters has been their problem since the inception. Right from the inception, they looked at batting as the major resource and their bowling has been hurting them always. LSG being on the ropes, could have affected Nicholas Pooran timing but RCB bowlers bowled more balls in the slot. Well, RCB Management needs to toughen up their players mentally to come out on top of this kind of finishes. And fans need some kind of respite from these kind of heart-breaks!
