Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his disappointment for missing out in Final XI of WTC Final. India played World Test Championship for the second time, but again failed to lift the title. First against New Zealand and next against Australia, they lost in England in WTC Finals back-to-back. Ravichandra Ashwin has come back from that disappointment and proved his worth in first Test against West Indies. He took 12 wickets in the match. With his destructive bowling, Ravinchandra Ashwin made India win against West Indies even more easy and like walk in the park.
India saw Yashasvi Jaiswal debuting with a big century in Test Cricket. As an opener, he scored maiden century in West Indies, in his very first Test. But Ravichandran Ashwin proved that he is highly dangerous to be written off. He took 5/60 in the first innings restricting West Indies to 150. Ravindra Jadeja took 3/26 to help him. India, in reply, made 421/5. Rohit Sharma scored his 10th century in Test Cricket. Ravichandran Ashwin, once again, took quick wickets to kill any hope for West Indies.

He took 7/71 in the second innings. In total, Ravichandran Ashwin took 12/131 in this Test Match. With this performance, he has improved his tally of International Test Wickets to 486. He is currently, the second highest wicket-taker for India after Anil Kumble. Ravichandran Ashwin needs another 14 wickets to reach historic 500 mark. India will play another Test against West Indies. Later, they will tour in South Africa in December after ICC ODI World Cup, 2023.
