Ranji Trophy 2022/23 has come to hosting final. Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, Saurashtra have reached Semi-Finals this season. All four teams tried to give their best to reach Rajni Trophy Final. Bengal dominated Madhya Pradesh in their semi-final and won against MP by 306 runs. Karnataka and Saurashtra have given each other tough fight like two champion teams but Saurashtra won by 4 wickets. Bengal and Saurashtra will play Ranji Trophy Final on 16th February.
Bengal and Madhya Pradesh played at Indore in their Ranji Trophy Semi-Final fixture. Bengal won the toss and elected to first. Anustup Majumdar (120) and Sudip Kumar Gharami (112) helped their team score 438 runs in 141.3 overs. Akash Deep took 5/42 bowled out Madhya Pradesh for 170 runs in 79 overs. Bengal in their second innings scored 279 runs in 119.4 overs with the help of Pradipta Pramanik (60) and Anustup Majumdar (80). Saransh Jain took 6/103 for MP. Madhya Pradesh needed to score 548 runs to win and enter Ranji Trophy Final. Bengal bowlers Pradipta Pramanik (5/51), Akash Deep (1/18) bowled out MP for 241 in 39.5 overs. On final day, Bengal won by 306 runs to reach Ranji Trophy Final and Akash Deep won Player of the Match award.
Saurashtra and Karnataka match has been more close in their Ranji Trophy semi-final at Bengaluru. Saurashtra won the toss and elected to field first. Mayank Agarwal scored 249 runs and Srinivas Sharath (66) to help Karnataka score 407 runs in 133.3 overs. In reply, Arpit Vasavada (202), Sheldon Jackson (160), Chirag Jani (72) helped Saurashtra put huge 527 runs on board in 174.4 overs. Vidwath Kaverappa (5/83) for Karnataka and in second innings they bundled out for 234 runs in 58.2 overs. Nikin Jose (109), Mayank Agarwal (55) scored well but Chetan Sakariya (4/45), Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (4/79), Parth Bhut (2/57) bowled well for Saurashtra. With 115 runs target to win, Saurashtra scored 117/6 in 34.2 overs. Arpit Vasavada with 202 and 47* helped Saurashtra reach Ranji Trophy final as captain and won Player of the Match.
Bengal and Saurashtra are looking in great form and Arpit Vasavada scored 903 runs, this season in Ranji Trophy 2022/23. Sheldon Jackson (602) for Saurashtra and Sudip Kumar Gharami (808), Abhimanyu Easwaran (882) for Bengal have scored huge. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja took 41 wickets for Saurashtra and Akash Deep (39), Shahbaz Ahmed (28) for Bengal. Ranji Trophy final from 16th February is going to be exciting this season for sure.
