Punjab Kings have lost a high scoring match against LSG. They pulled off an uncanny win against Chepauk against CSK in IPL 2023. CSK batters continued their form against Punjab Kings bowlers. But bowlers faltered in defending for CSK. They gave away 41 runs in two overs when Punjab Kings looked out of it. Still, CSK did not let Punjab Kings win till the last ball.
CSK won the toss and elected to bat first. Devon Conway batted till the end of the innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad(37), Shivam Dube(28) gave him great support. Punjab Kings bowlers did not find balls to control them. Devon Conway scored 92 runs off 52 balls. Ravindra Jadeja scored 12 runs off 10 balls and cost CSK 10-15 runs in the death overs. MS Dhoni with two sixes of last two balls took their score to 200/4. Rahul Chahar(1/35), Sikandar Raza(1/31) bowled well for Punjab Kings.
Prabhsimran Singh(42) and Shikhar Dhawan(28) started well for Punjab Kings in powerplay. Liam Livingstone(40) in the middle of the innings struggled against spin. But got hold of young Tushar Deshpande and scored 22 runs in his over with three sixes and one leg byes four. That over changed the chasing innings in favor of Punjab Kings. Sam Curran(29), Jitesh Sharma(21)and Sikandar Raza(13) cameos took Punjab Kings over the line in the last ball. Matheesha Pathirana bowled well for CSK. Tushar Deshpande(3/49) got purple cap but became villain for CSK and Ravindra Jadeja(2/32) in his last over also cost the match. Devon Conway got Player of the Match.
