Pakistan has been dominating New Zealand in the ODI series. In the Karachi ODI, they have again won against New Zealand by 26 runs. Pakistan has already won first two ODIs at Rawalpindi. They have chased down targets like 289 and 337. Fakhar Zaman scored 117 and 180 runs in these chases, consecutively. In the third ODI, Pakistan batted first as New Zealand elected to field first.
Fakhar Zaman(19) failed in the third ODI. Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam have put on 108 runs partnership for the second wicket. Babar Azam scored 54 runs off 62 balls. He has been consistent in the series and scored consecutive fifties. Imam-ul-Haq missed out a deserved century and got out on 90(107). Pakistan found Mohammad Rizwan(32), Agha Salman(31), Shadab Khan(21) playing good cameos in the death overs. Cole McConchie(1/46), Adam Milne(2/56), Matt Henry(3/54) did well for New Zealand. Still, Pakistan scored 287/6 in 50 overs.
Will Young(33) and Tom Blundell(65) have put on 83 runs in 15 overs for first wicket. Daryl Mitchell(21) failed in this match. Tom Latham(45) tried his best but New Zealand left too much to do in death overs. They were 196/6 in 41.2 overs. They needed to score 92 runs to win in 8.4 overs. Cole McConchie scored 64 runs off 45 balls and tried his best. But Pakistan bowlers controlled other batters on Karachi pitch. Naseem Shah(2/42), Mohammad Wasim(2/50), Shaheen Shah Afridi(2/53), Agha Salman(1/42) bowled well for Pakistan.
New Zealand scored 261 runs in 49.1 overs. Pakistan won by 26 runs and the ODI series by 3-0. There are two more ODIs but series has been won by Pakistan, already. Fakahar Zaman with two centuries is looking in red hot form. Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq have been very consistent too. We have to wait and see, if Pakistan will complete whitewash against New Zealand with 5-0 in upcoming matches.
