Pakistan has dominated their Asian mate Sri Lanka in Test Series. They are touring Sri Lanka for Tests and ODIs. Pakistan has been able to dominate and also win against SL easily. Test specialists of SL did not come to their aid at the right time. The team did see success overseas but they failed on their home turf. Pakistan won the second Test by an innings and 222 runs.
Abdullah Shafique with his 201 and Agha Salman with his 132 propelled Pakistan score to 576/5. Sri Lanka had to score 410 to avoid defeat. SL opened well with openers Nishan Madushka(33) and Dimuth Karunaratne(41) scoring 69 for first wicket. Kusal Mendis(14) tried to join Karunaratne. After Pakistan bowlers dismissed them, the innings did not see much resistance from others.
Angelo Mathews held one end tight with 63 unbeaten. But he ran out of partners. Ramesh Mendis(16) and Dhananjaya de Silva(10) managed double digit scores. Sri Lanka got bowled out for 188 runs in their second innings. Pakistan won the match by 222 runs and an innings. Also, won the series 2-0. Noman Ali(7/70) did put up his best performance. Abdullah Shafique won Player of the Match for his innings.
