Pakistan is closing on a famous win against Sri Lanka. Hosts have won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka scored 312 in their first innings. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 122 runs after Shaheen Shah Afridi got early wickets for Pakistan. Later, Saud Shakeel scored double century, 208 to help Pakistan scored 461. Agha Salman also scored 83 runs assisting Saud.
Ramesh Mendis(5/136), Prabath Jayasuriya(3/145), Kasun Rajitha(1/77), Vishwa Fernando(1/69) took wickets for Sri Lanka. In the second innings, Nishan Madushka scored 52 runs as an opener. In the middle order, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 82 runs and Ramesh Mendis scored 48 runs in the second innings. Abrar Ahmed(3/68), Noman Ali(3/75), Agha Salman(2/39) and Shaheen Shah Afridi(2/64) took wickets for Pakistan. Sri Lanka got all-out for 279 in 83.1 overs.
Sri Lanka has given a target of 131 runs for Pakistan in the second innings. Opener Abdullah Shafique(8), Shan Masood(7) and Noman Ali(0) got out in the chase. Imam-ul-Haq(25) and Babar Azam(6) are at the wicket putting up a partnership. In 15 overs, Pakistan scored 48/3. Now, they need 83 runs to win the first Test against SL in Sri Lanka.
