New Zealand great batsman and ex-Test captain, Kane Williamson has scored his 25th Test tone in his 89th Test and 155th innings. Pakistan and New Zealand are playing two Test series as part of ongoing World Test Championship. Kane Williamson has given up his captaincy after New Zealand lost their chance to defend their WTC Title. Pakistan has scored 438 runs in their first innings.

New Zealand in reply to Pakistan scored 440/6 by the end of Day 3. Openers – Tom Latham scored 113 runs off 191 balls and Devon Conway scored 92 runs off 176 balls. They have put on 183 runs in 53 overs and Kane Williamson has put on 48 runs with Tom Latham. Henry Nicholls (22), Daryl Mitchell (42), Tom Blundell (47) have put on 41, 63, 90 run partnerships with Kane Williamson, on his way to his 25th century.

Pakistan bowlers like Abrar Ahmed, Nauman Ali had not much of an effect on New Zealand batsmen even on a pitch, that is, spin friendly. Kane Williamson negated any effect they could have had with his clever tactics. Abrar Ahmed made a big impact during his debut against England but failed to work his magic on New Zealand. Pakistan are now looking at 2-run deficit and Kane Williamson along with bowling all-rounders like Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee and tail-enders Neil Wagner and Ajaz Patel would try to push the lead above 70 – 100 runs. Already, Pakistan are having big trouble after their loss to England and New Zealand looks too strong an opponent for Pakistan to just run over.
