Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni has retired from Indian cricket post 2019 World Cup. He has been one of the top contenders for mentoring young Under-19 and NCA cricketers. He could be given a chance to run National Cricket Academy, if VVS Laxman is given Under-19 Coach post that has been held by Rahul Dravid, before he became Indian National Team Coach.
Now, several news reports have come out stating that MS Dhoni has been approached by T20 leagues all over the world and he might go as mentor to BBL or ECB’S Blast T20. Most of these leagues have been asking BCCI to release Dhoni and permit him to participate in Overseas Leagues.
Dhoni has been silent on these reports. Rajiv Shukla of BCCI, confirmed that MS Dhoni or any Indian cricketer participating in IPL T20 are not been given permission to play in Overseas T20 Leagues.
As Dhoni is an integral part for Chennai Super Kings team in IPL and they cannot lose him. He could become coach for the team after he hangs up his playing shoes. For now, the talk around him going BCCI and participating in Overseas T20 leagues can be given a rest.
