
MS Dhoni has retired from International Cricket after CWC 2019 Semi-Final defeat. He stated that he tired his best to make his contributions count for Team India. Post that MS Dhoni has been playing only at IPL, due to his contract with Chennai Super Kings. Before 2023 season, he has decided to retire from IPL too. But CSK Management has asked him to continue for 3 more seasons. MS Dhoni agreed to play in one season and be consultant or coach for next two.

Even though he hails from Ranchi, Chennai and Tamil people have owned him as Thala Dhoni. He also remarked Chennai has his second home. MS Dhoni has been associated with CSK as captain from the inception of the team in IPL 2008. Under his captaincy, they won 4 trophies and has been a definite qualifier for playoffs, every season, barring 2022. They have reached 9 finals, won 4 trophies and qualified for 11 playoffs. Highest by any team. Mumbai Indians have won more trophies than CSK with 5. MS Dhoni has become the brand symbol for CSK over the years, like Virat Kohli for RCB and Rohit Sharma for MI.

Well, fans of MS Dhoni have arrived in huge numbers to CSK practice match. The franchise has opened Chepauk Stadium gates for all fans. You can see in the video, how they are cheering as MS Dhoni entered to bat. He scored a century in the match, too. Some players might retire but they never go away from our memories or fan hearts. Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni belong to such category. Fans did not stop from getting a peak of him when he is working out and warming up too.
