Australia and South Africa have decided to play 3 T20Is and 5 ODIs in their preparation for World Cup 2023. Australia is touring in South Africa and after this tour, they will fly to India for preparations of CWC. Mitchell Marsh has been given captaincy for T20Is and he did well with the bat in the first match. Australia has registered a massive win by 111 runs against South Africa. South Africa won the toss and elected to field. Australia lost Travis Head(6) early and Mitchell Marsh started bashing and attacking immediately. Tim David joined him after Matthew Short(20), Josh Inglis(1), Marcus Stoinis(6) got out cheaply. Both of them broke the momentum of South African bowlers. Tim David scored 64 runs off 28 balls and gave Australia required momentum. Aaron Hardie on his debut scored 23 runs off 14 balls. Mitchell Marsh missed his century by 8 runs. He scored 92 runs off 49 balls and Australia scored 226/6 in 20 overs.

In the chase, South Africa did not get the required big start. Temba Bavuma got out for a duck and Rassie van der Dussen got out for 21 runs. Reeza Hendricks tried his best by scoring 56 runs in the innings. Australia bowler Tanveer Sangha got 4 wickets in the middle of the innings breaking back bone of South African batting innings. Entire bowling unit played really well to put batters of South Africa under immense pressure. Hence, South Africa got bowled out for 115 in 15.3 overs. Mitchell Marsh for his innings became Player of the Match. Australia is looking to get their combinations right before CWC 2023 and win this time in India.
