MI has been able to control SRH in IPL 2023. They have been asked to bat first. MI has come out with their openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan blazing against SRH bowling. Rohit Sharma looked in top form and he scored 28 off just 18 balls. Ishan Kishan looked like struggling on a rather slow pitch. MI sent Cameron Green early on this wicket.
Ishan Kishan scored 38 runs off 31 balls but he gave time for Cameron Green to get the pace of the wicket. Suryakumar Yadav gone after hitting a six to stunning catch by Aiden Markram. MI found a great young talent in Tilak Verma and he again made it count. Tilak Verma at pace scored 37 off 17 giving momentum to MI innings. Cameron Green got the big finish after slow start and scored 64 off 40 balls. Tim David helped him in finishing the innings on a high with 16 runs. MI scored 192/5 in 20 overs and they scored 112 runs in second 10 overs.
SRH had an uphill task. They needed Harry Brook to fire again. He tried to score quickly and perished in that pursuit early. Rahul Tripathi also failed. Aiden Markram scored 22 off 17 and got out trying to push the score. MI bowlers bowled tight line and length not allowing SRH to score. Mayank Agarwal scored 48 runs off 41 balls and Heinrich Klaasen with 36 from 16 gave momentum. But Abdul Samad and others could not find boundaries. MI won the match with 14 runs as SRH got bowled out for 178.
Arjun Tendulkar took his first IPL wicket as he bowled the last over and got Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught at covers. He and Rohit Sharma celebrated the victory and his wicket with happiness. After losing 2 back to back, MI own 3 on trot. Now, they look like a team to look out for as their approach seems to be go hard in powerplay and give more time to Cameron Green. SRH came close with not many hitters to finish for them. SRH needs a good hitter down the order while MI need a good bowler in the middle overs.
