Indian fans will have to bare with the disappointment of missing star bowler and World No.1, Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer has reported back pain and doctors have declared that he has back stress injury and ruled him out of the T20I World Cup, in Australia.

T20I World Cup is going to start from 16th October and Indian team has shown weakness in bowling department. Recently concluded Asia Cup and Australian T20I series have mirrored the lack of depth in Indian bowling.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is unable to bowl at his best in penultimate overs and Harshal Patel slower balls seem to be landing in the wrong areas on the pitch. Bumrah has been missed in Asia Cup and he seemed ineffective in Australia matches. Fans expected him to come to form in South Africa T20I series and carry the momentum to World Cup.

But he has back stress injury and to recover from it, he might take 6-8 weeks time. Hence, India selectors decided to drop him from the WC squad. Deepak Chahar will be immediate replacement after his performance in South African T20I game at Thiruvananthapuram.

Virat Kohli showing signs of form and Suryakumar Yadav being Mr. Dependable in the middle order and Hardik Pandya finishing matches has given confidence on batting for fans but bowling has become a major concern. Absence of Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah means India will have to anticipate youngsters or less experienced will raise to the occasion. Let’s hope they do.
