Indian Women win record Seventh Asia Cup Title

Indian Women won the Asia Cup 2022 Final at Sylhet, Bangladesh against Sri Lanka Women on 15th October. Sri Lanka Women reached finals in an unexpected manner by winning against Pakistan Women by one run in their sensational Semi Final.

Indian Women won the Asia Cup 2022 Final at Sylhet, Bangladesh against Sri Lanka Women on 15th October. Sri Lanka Women reached finals in an unexpected manner by winning against Pakistan Women by one run in their sensational Semi Final. Indian Women rather easily toppled inexperienced Thailand Women in their semi final. In the final, Indian Women dominated nervous and overwhelmed Sri Lanka Women.

In fact, nascent Sri Lanka Women lost 5 wickets with just 16 runs on board and 4 wickets for 9 runs. Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh did not let opposition to put up any partnership or settle down at any second. This resulted in their best batter and captain, Chamari Athapattu run out and SL never recovered.

They finished the innings with 65/9 in 20 overs and that too thanks to late flourish by Inoka Ranaweera (18). India Women started the chase innings aggressively and vice captain Smriti Mandhana scored 51 out off 71/2. India Women won the Asia Cup for seventh time in eight tournaments and this would be regarded as unprecedented dominance in Asia Cups by any Indian Cricket team. Congratulations to India Women’s Team and now over India Men to try and win the Cricket T20I World Cup in Australia.

Soon, Indian Women will be fighting for World Cup against dominant Australia Women, experienced New Zealand and England Women. Definitely, they have announced that they won’t be an easy team to beat. In the previous T20I World Cup, India Women reached Final against Australia in Australia but lost to Australia Women, thanks to Alyssa Healy stunning innings. This time India Women won series against England in England and they want to beat South Africa and New Zealand as well convincingly.
