India struggled against Pakistan with the bat. While middle-order batters performed well top-order failed. Now, against Nepal Openers have come good and India won by 10 wickets. Bowling wise India tried to depend more on short pitch balls and openers took great advantage of it. Especially, Kushal Bhurtel took on Indian bowlers in the first ten overs. India batted well in a rain hit match but did not impress as a bowling unit.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. Aasif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel tried to give a steady start to Nepal. Kushal took on bowlers while Aasif tried to hold one end strong. After they have put on 65-run partnership, Kushal Bhurtel(38) got out to Shardul Thakur. Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets very quickly. Gulsan Jha(23), Dipendra Singh Airee(29) and Sompal Kami(48) resisted for a bit after Aasif Sheikh(58) got out. Nepal ended the innings by scoring 230 in 48.2 overs. Ravindra Jadeja(3/40), Mohammed Siraj(3/61), Shardul Thakur(1/26), Mohammed Shami(1/29) and Hardik Pandya(1/34) took wickets for India.

Rain came down as Nepal completed their innings. Twice rain has come down during Nepal innings as well. Umpires waited till the rain stopped and then reduced the overs to 23. India needed to score 145 to win by DLS method. Rohit Sharma took on bowlers from word go. Shubman Gill took his time and started scoring at free-flowing pace. Both of them have put on a stand of 147-run and took India to victory in 20.1 overs. Rohit Sharma(74) and Shubman Gill(67) need to take this match practice and do well in Super 4’s of Asia Cup 2023. India will play Pakistan on 10th September in Colombo.
