India has become one of the most influential cricket boards and teams in World Cricket. Until 2000’s, BCCI had been a board low on funds and England, Australia used to have major influence in ICC. IPL has changed that with huge funds pouring in.
Even the continued emergence of stars like Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma has made world take notice of Indian Cricket. Sachin Tendulkar became most influential cricketer in the world and inspired by him, Virendra Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and current generation have contributed hugely to the cricket popularity.
IPL has introduced even more stars in to Cricket and fun of T20 cricket has crossed boudaries. But Indian cricket has not been that successful in major ICC events. While team has been dominant in tournaments, after 2013 Champions Trophy, they managed to reach finals only twice. They have been losing mostly in Semi-Finals or being knocked out.

Now, the team has lost CWC 2023, despite dominating for 10 games. They have been invincible and unbeatable for all 10 games and lost to Australia in the final, due to the pressure and lack of planning. But the country is going to host three major ICC events in next 8 years and also, the team has to look forward to an ICC event every year.
