India won in the final over with 6 wickets by scoring 101/4. Hardik Pandya (15) helped Suryakumar Yadav in finishing the innings. India will play the final T20I on Wednesday, 1st of February. Now, the series stands at 1-1.

India and New Zealand are playing 3 T20I series after ODI series. india clean swept ODIs but lost in the first one. The second one has been held at Lucknow in front of a packed house on Sunday, 29th January, 2022. UP CM Yogi Adityanath attended the match and both teams captains greeted him, respectfully. Hardik Pandya completed his quota but Shivam Mavi bowled only one over and Arshdeep Singh restricted New Zealand in the final over. Pitch has been so spin friendly that India operated more with their spinners and medium pacer, than other two pacers.

New Zealand could score only 99/8 in their 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh got 2/7 in his 2 overs in the death. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a maiden in his 2 but did not complete his quota interestingly. Mitchell Santner (19) ended being the highest scorer. India bowlers have restricted New Zealand batsmen quite well and they kept the runs to minimum. But the chase has not been easy for India with 100 runs target.

They had to struggle from the word go. New Zealand operated with five spinners and no one have given away easy runs. India went for saving wickets in the middle overs against spin. Suryakumar Yadav (26) has hit the winning runs off the penultimate ball against pace. Rahul Tripathi (13), Ishan Kishan (19) struggled against spin to score runs and rotate strike.
