India has not been able to give competition to other Asian Nations in Asian Games as much as we hoped for. While population wise India stands at first place, with 130 crores in number, never has been able to build enough sporting talents. Multi-nation and multi-sport world stage events have seen Indian contingent hoping to give great fight but ending below par. At Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou, India has been able to create history.
India started the campaign with the slogan, “Iss baar 100 medals paar”. Shooting has been greatest medal guarantee sport for India but Athletics has yielded huge this time around. Indian Athelets have won a total of 29 medals. In Shooting event, players have won a total of 22 medals. The next best is Archery with 9 medals. On the last day of event, Indians won Bronze in Women’s Hockey, Silver medals in Wrestling freestyle, Chess and Gold medals in Cricketing, Kabaddi & Badminton Men’s doubles. India in total has won 107 medals in Asian Games 2022.

India in total has won 28 Gold medals registering their best performance ever. They have won 38 Silver and 41 Bronze Medals. While India did face some issues like biased umpiring and frequent targetting, Indian contingent has been able to deliver at the highest level. Several State Chief Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Draupadi Murumu has appreciated the efforts of Sports Authority of India for their vision and planning for this Asian Games 2022, edition. We congratulate all the athletes and hope to see India ending in third position next time with 150 plus medals compared to 4th, this time.
