ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has entered into knock-outs or Semi-Finals as the last group match between India and Zimbabwe finished off group matches in style. India after being given a confirmation that they have qualified post South Africa lose to Netherlands, they played freely. Even though Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not score as much as anticipated, India found Suryakumar Yadav stunning everyone with 360 degree shots alike AB de Villiers.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. Rohit Sharma had to be agressor as KL Rahul played first over as maiden. Soon, India Captain, Rohit Sharma fell for the trap set by Zimbabwe bowlers. Virat Kohli joined KL Rahul. Once again, KL Rahul smacked post a slow start and scored 51 from 34 balls and got out the next ball. Virat Kohli did not cash in after a solid start and fell after scoring 26 off 25. Suryakumar Yadav again took it upon him to up the ante and accelerated with stunning shots. Hardik Pandya (18) could not give him great support and with his 360 degree shots, Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 runs off 25 balls and pushed India score to 186/5 in 20 overs. In the last over, he scored 20 runs off 4 balls.

Zimbabwe never looked in contention. India bowlers just did not allow the Zimbabwean batsmen to score at all. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took first wicket on his first ball and bowled a maiden. Arshdeep Singh also bowled very tight lines. Sikandar Raza (34) and Ryan Burl (35) went after spinners and scored heavily against Axar Patel, hence ended Zimbabwe innings with 115 all out in 17.2 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin (3/22), Hardik Pandya (2/16), Mohammed Shami (2/14), Arshdeep Singh (1/9), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/11), Axar Patel (1/40) bowled well for India. Suryakumar Yadav got Player of the Match award.

India with this win became the only team to win 4 games in the tournament even with rain interruption. Australia lost a match against England and New Zealand lost a match against Afghanistan. Ireland and Afghanistan match also got washed out. Group 2 matches had clear cut results over Group 1, as full matches happened despite rain interruptions. ICC has booked reserve days for both Semi-Finals and Finals. India will take on England on 10th November at Adelaide Oval. All the best, Team India.
