ICC and BCCI have unveiled CWC 2023 India fixtures. Over 46 days, the World Cup will be conducted in India on a grand scale. Only 100 days are left for the start of the tournament. From 5th October to 19th November, the tournament will be played by 10 best cricket teams in World. 8 teams have already qualified and 2 more will be qualified from CWC Qualifier tournament. India will play their first match at 8th October in Chennai.
On 5th October, England and New Zealand will start their campaign at Ahmedabad. On 15th October, India will play against Pakistan at same Ahmedabad venue. Semi-Finals will be held at Mumbai and Kolkata, on 15th and 16th November, respectively. CWC Final will be held at Ahmedabad this time. In 2011, the final was held at Mumbai and India won the cup.
In 1987, First Time India hosted jointly with Pakistan, the World Cup and lost in Semi-Finals. Next, India hosted jointly with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and again lost in Semi-Finals to Sri Lanka. Next, India won in 2011 and they hosted it jointly with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Now, in 2023 India is the only host for CWC. Let’s hope India will repeat 2011 and not 2019 and 1987, 1996 history.
