FIFA World Cup 2022 has seen upsets against Argentina and Germany early in the tournament. Many wanted to see the big Soccer Nations to be challenged but Brazil, Senegal, Iran, France, Poland have managed to neutralize the challenge from their opponents in their group fixtures. FIFA World Cup is going to get more busy in this week as it will lead to knockouts starting 2nd December. The favorite team of many football lovers and hot favorite for the title, Brazil won against Serbia with 2-0 scoreline, in their Group G first match. Richarlison scored 2 goals in 62nd and 73rd minutes of the match. Neymar Jr. did not score in the match and fans hope he would in the next one.
Later, on 25th November, Iran and Wales clashed in their Group B fixture. Wales got a red card in the match and lost to Iran by 2-0. With 1 point from 2 matches, Wales has been almost eliminated from the FIFA World Cup as England will be a tougher opposition for them. Iran and USA would be looking forward to their next fixture as till will be literal knockout for both of them. Iran has an advantage with 3 points from 2 matches over USA, who managed to draw their two matches against England and Wales.
Over in Group A fixtures of FIFA World Cup, Senegal eliminated Qatar. Senegal won over Qatar with 3-1 scoreline and with two losses, host nation has become the first to be eliminated. Boulaye Dia 41′, Famara Diedhiou 48′ and Bamba Dieng 84′ scored for Senegal while Mohammad Muntari 78′ scored the lone face-saving goal for host Qatar. Netherlands and Ecuador drew their match with 1-1 scoreline. Cody Gakpo scored in the 6th minute for Netherlands but Ecuador kept pestering Netherlands defense with 15 shots at goal. Enner Valencia scored the equalizer goal at 49th minute. Now, Ecuador vs Senegal and Netherlands vs Qatar have become important for Group A, with Netherlands and Ecuador on 4 points and Senegal on 3 points, for their progress to FIFA World Cup knockouts.
In Group D fixtures of FIFA World Cup on 26th November, Tunisia took on Australia and France on Denmark. Australia won with 1-0 against Tunisia and France won with 2-1 against Denmark. Mitchell Duke scored in the 23rd minute of the match for Australia while Tunisia played better overall, Australia did not concede a goal. France and Denmark played aggressively with France taking 21 shots at goal with 7 on target. Demark took 10 shots at goal with 2 on target. Denmark players had better possession and passes but Kylian Mbappe sensational goals in 61st and 86th minutes won it for France. Andreas Christensen scored in the 68th minute for Denmark. France topped Group D with 6 points and are certain to advance to knockouts of FIFA World Cup.
Poland and Saudi Arabia clashed from Group C of FIFA World Cup, on 26th November. Piotr Zielinski scored in 39th minute and Robert Lewandowski scored in the 82nd minute of the match for Poland to register a 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia, who defeated mighty Argentina. Saudi Arabia had 64% Possession, took 16 shots at goal with 5 on target but couldn’t convert one of them into goals. Poland with lesser possession – 36%, more fouls -18 and Yellow cards -3, 9 shots at goal and 3 on target, still managed to win due to the strikers brilliance in converting chances to goals. Poland (4) tops the group with Argentina (3), Saudi Arabia (3) and Mexico (1). Argentina vs Poland and Saudi Arabia vs Mexico have become important in FIFA World Cup Group C to determine the knockouts from this unexpectedly close group.
