South Africa had an aberration against Netherlands while chasing. Against Pakistan, they almost failed to score the required runs but won the match with last wicket remaining. Now, they are back to setting target against New Zealand. They once again had their opener Quinton de Kock scoring another century. He has made this World Cup his own, by scoring his 4th century in 7 matches.
Rassie ven der Dussen has also scored a century to give SA, the total they wished. Earlier at Pune, New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first. They almost chased down 390 against Australia. As their bowling is looking depleted, they seem to have taken a chance with chasing and batting. South Africa, just pummeled NZ bowlers and Dussen, Quinton have put on 200 runs partnership after Temba Bavuma(24) got out.

Quinton de Kock should re-think his decision to retire from ODI cricket. But he is making what seems to his last ODI cup his own. Almost like Rohit Sharma in 2019, who scored 5 centuries. He scored 114 runs from 116 balls. Rassie ven der Dussen scored his second century of the CWC 2023. He scored 133 runs from 118 balls and made this score huge for SA. David Miller scored 53 runs from 30 balls and fell for the penultimate ball.
Heinrich Klaasen(15) and Aiden Markram (6) finished the innings for South Africa. New Zealand lost another player Matt Henry to injury. Lockie Ferguson, Kane Williamson have already missed most of the matches and now Henry will join them. NZ is suffering from lack of players to play in the XI. Tim Southee(2/77), Trent Boult(1/49) and James Neesham(1/69) took wickets. Now, they need Rachin Ravindra to again come to the fore and win this game for them.
