Australia started off their campaign with losses against India and South Africa, in CWC 2023. But they have turned it around and almost confirmed their Semi-Final chances. They needed to win against England to go to 10 points and keep their chances alive and in best possible place. New Zealand loss against Pakistan has also improved their chances.
England needed to win this to keep their Champions trophy qualification chances alive. They won the toss and elected to field first. Australia lost their in form openers early. Steven Smith(44) and Marnus Labuschagne(71) saved them. Cameron Green(47), Marcus Stoinis(35) and Adam Zampa(29) took them to respectable 286 in 49.3 overs.

Chris Woakes(4/54), Adil Rashid(2/38), Mark Wood(2/70), David Willey(1/48) and Liam Livingstone(1/42) took wickets for England. English team needed just 287 runs to win the match. The confident team would have easily achieved this. But this team has been out of confidence.
In the chase, they lost Jonny Bairstow for first ball to Mitchell Starc. Dawid Malan(50) and Ben Stokes(64) have tried their best to save the situation for England. Moeen Ali(42), Chris Woakes(32) and Adil Rashid(20) tried their best in the death overs. Australia bowled them out for 253 and won by 33 runs.

Adam Zampa(3/21) and 29 runs won the Player of the Match award for his performance. Pat Cummins(2/49), Josh Hazlewood(2/49), Mitchell Starc(2/66) and Marcus Stoinis(1/34) took wickets. Australia has eliminated England, defending champions who won in 2019. English might end up on 7th or 8th position after winning the CWC.
