CSK has decided to take on GT bowlers no matter what in IPL 2023 Final. The rain delay has helped them in getting themselves prepared. CSK had to bat at their attacking best to chase 171 runs in 15 overs. GT scored 214/4 in 20 overs in the first innings. CSK innings started and rain arrived. Their target has been reduced to 171 runs in 15 overs, according to DLS method.
CSK started with Devon Conway going berserk while Ruturaj Gaikwad also tried his best to attack. They both again put on 74 runs partnership in 6.3 overs. Shivam Dube struggled initially and he has put pressure on Devon Conway(47) and Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane scored 27 runs off 13 balls against pacers. Noor Ahmed has been able to restrict both of them. Ambati Rayudu, playing his last IPL match joined Shivam Dube. CSK needed both of them to go after bowlers.
Shivam Dube finally managed to hit Rashid Khan to 2 sixes. Immediately, in the next over, Ambati Rayudu scored 2 sixes and one four against Mohit Sharma. Ambati Rayudu(19) got out for the next ball. MS Dhoni came up and got out for first ball duck. CSK found themselves struggling. Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube tried to take 2’s and 1’s. Mohit Sharma looked like winning it in the last over with 1 dot balls. CSK could only score singles in next three balls.
Ravindra Jadeja needed to get 10 runs from 2 balls. GT halted Mohit Sharma and tried to give him suggestions. This break helped CSK. Ravindra Jadeja has been able to hit six and a four when needed. He told that he has done it for MS Dhoni. CSK by defeating GT in IPL 2023 Final won their 5th title. They have equaled MI record of most trophies.
