Still, CSK found required surge in the death overs from Ravindra Jadeja(21) and MS Dhoni(20). MS Dhoni took on Khaleel Ahmed in 19th over to get 16 important runs. CSK scored 167/8 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh(3/18), Axar Patel(2/27), Kuldeep Yadav(1/28), Khaleel Ahmed(1/32), Lalit Yadav(1/34) took wickets for DC.
CSK choked DC in the powerplay by taking wickets of David Warner(0), Phil Salt(17) and Mitchell Marsh(5). Manish Pandey(27) and Rilee Rossouw(35) have put on a partnership but took many balls. They took 10 overs to score 59 runs. Axar Patel(21) tried his best but by the time he came to bat, DC lost the match. Deepak Chahar(2/38), Ravindra Jadeja(1/19) and Matheesha Pathirana(3/37) took wickets for CSK. MS Dhoni innings of 20(9) and Ravindra Jadeja bowling, Ajinkya Rahane fielding have been highlights of the match.
CSK with this win, got to 15 points. After GT, they are only the team with highest number of points. They will play KKR and DC in their next two matches. Ravindra Jadeja got Player of the Match award for his bowling and batting performance. CSK is almost confirmed for Qualifiers and we have to see if they can lock first or second position.
