
Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, held a meeting with Indian Captain Rohit Sharma, NCA head VVS Laxman, Indian Team Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Chief Indian Selector Chetan Sharma and president Roger Binny. They have discussed about injury concerns of various players. Jasprit Bumrah, Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja have missed most India International matches and even Captain Rohit Sharma has missed several matches. BCCI wants NCA and IPL to work in tandem during next IPL season and manage workloads of players. BCCI is majorly concerned about 2023 50 Over World Cup and possible World Test Championship final as well.

Yo Yo Tests will be conducted for every player in the probable squad and BCCI has identified 20-25 players that they feel important for 50 Over World Cup in October, 2023 and T20I World Cup, in 2024. Their fitness will be of top priority for BCCI and NCA wants to design special camps for their recovery from stress and make them ready for all the International matches.
BCCI wants emerging and young players to play considerable amount of domestic cricket before they can be picked for International tournaments. BCCI and Rohit Sharma have agreed to come on same page about better results in upcoming ICC tournaments and hence, BCCI thinks these steps are very important. India has been hit by injuries during several International matches in 2022 and absence of Jasprit Bumrah did hurt India in T20I World Cup too.
