Bangladesh Women have stunned India Women in the first ODI. India Women elected to field first in a rain hit match. Bangladesh Women scored 152 runs in 43 overs. India Women failed to score the simple target and lost by 40 runs. India Women scored just 113 runs in 35.5 overs. Bangladesh Women registered a huge victory for the first time against India.
Sharmin Akhter failed to open her account. Murshida Khatun(13) also did not give Bangladesh Women a good start. Fargana Hoque scored 27 runs off 45 balls and Nigar Sultana scored 39 runs off 64 balls. They have put on 49 runs to help Bangladesh Women to score decent score. Amanjot Kaur(4/31), Devika Vaidya(2/36) and Deepti Sharma(1/26) took wickets for India Women. Bangladesh Women scored 152 runs and gave India a target of 154 to win.
Priya Punia(10) and Smriti Mandhana(11) fell for Marufa Akter. Harmanpreet Kaur(5), Jemimah Rodrigues(10), Deepti Sharma(20) failed to score against Bangladesh Women. Rabeya Khan(3/30) and Marufa Akter(4/29) helped Bangladesh Women to register such a famous win against India Women. Marufa Akter got the Player of the Match award. India Women cannot let complacency screep into their game. We can only hope that they will bounce back big time.
