On the fourth day, when rain interuppted the play, Australia looked to be too behind. England bowlers could not get wickets in the 2 hours play allowed.
The fifth day has been washed out by rains. England players could not control their emotion and cried. James Anderson could not get wickets as easily as he used to. Stuart Broad crossed 600 milestone. Mark Wood looked most dangerous among all the pacers England tried. Australia saw Marnus Labuschagne saving the day for them with a century in second innings. Mitchell Marsh scored 31 runs off 107 balls and helped Marnus to construct a 100-run partnership. Australia ended the match on 214/5.

In the first innings, Australia scored 317. Later, England scored at a fast pace 592 runs. Zak Crawley scored 189, destroying Australia bowlers. Jonny Bairstow missed out on a century at 99. Moeen Ali(54), Joe Root(84), Harry Brook(61) and Ben Stokes(51) lent to the massive score. Australia still were 61 runs behind when match got called off. Australia with 2-1 scoreline retained Ashes and England players couldn’t fathom what had hit them. The last Test will be played from 27th July.
