India and Bangladesh second Test started at Mirpur on 22nd December. On a green pitch, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field. India dropped Kuldeep Yadav in favor of Jayadev Unadkat. The quick bowler is playing his second test after debut in 2010, against South Africa in Centurion. India lost the Test match to South Africa by an innings and 25 runs while Unadkat did not take a wicket and gave away 101 runs. Bangladesh openers Najmul Hossain Shanto (24) and Zakir Hasan (15) survived Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav bowling tight with line & length, seam movement.
Zakir Hasan fell to Jayadev Unadkat as his maiden Test wicket in International matches. In the next over, Ravichandran Ashwin got Najmul Hossain and Bangladesh have been reduced to 39/2. Mominul Haque and Shakib Al Hasan have put together 43-run partnership, Shakib Al Hasan (16) got out to Umesh Yadav. Mushfiqur Rahim (26) and Mominul Haque got together to put 48-run partnership and when they looked to get more aggressive, Unadkat got Mushfiqur Rahim out.
Litton Das (25), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (15) have put on 42-runs and 41-run partnerships with Mominul Haque for Bangladesh. India reduced Bangladesh to 213/6. At this point, Umesh Yadav got Nurul Hasan (6), Taskin Ahmed (1) after Mehidy Hasan. Ravichandran Ashwin quickly dismissed Mominul Haque (84) and Khaled Ahmed for a duck, as Bangladesh got all-out for 227 in 73.5 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin (4/71), Umesh Yadav (4/25), Jayadev Unadkat (2/50) took wickets for India against Bangladesh. Indian openers KL Rahul (3) and Shubman Gill (14) stayed undefeated with 19/0 on board by stumps on Day one.
